Guidde (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website https://guidde.app. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google profile information. We also detect and store your browser timezone to deliver features like streak reminders at the right local time.

Usage Data

We collect anonymous analytics data (via Google Analytics) such as pages visited, session duration, and general device/browser information. This helps us understand how people use Guidde and improve the product.

Prayer Data

Prayer themes you enter and the prayer points we generate are stored in your account so you can save, revisit, and share them. We do not sell, share, or use your prayer content for advertising.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Guidde service.
  • To authenticate your account and manage sessions.
  • To send streak reminders and notifications (only if you opt in).
  • To enforce daily usage limits (free vs. Pro plans).
  • To improve, personalise, and develop new features.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted databases hosted by MongoDB Atlas. Authentication is handled via NextAuth.js with industry-standard practices (bcrypt-hashed passwords, secure HTTP-only session cookies). We take reasonable measures to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security over the internet.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google Analytics — anonymous usage analytics.
  • Google OAuth — optional sign-in method.
  • OpenAI — AI model used to generate prayer points. Prayer themes are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We also use localStorage to remember your theme preference (light/dark). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies beyond Google Analytics.

6. Your Rights

You can:

  • Access your data through your account settings.
  • Delete your saved prayers at any time.
  • Opt out of streak reminders in settings.
  • Request account deletion by contacting us at the email below.

7. Children's Privacy

Guidde is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
